AnythingLLM's portability

Data is stored in SQLite (local) or PostgreSQL (cloud). Documents are chunked and embedded in vector databases (Chroma, Pinecone, Weaviate, etc.). Exporting and re-chunking is straightforward but time-consuming.

If you move: Document embeddings may differ depending on your new LLM provider, so you might want to re-embed. Agents and custom skills are stored in JSON and export cleanly. Switching is possible but requires planning.

RAGFlow's portability

Knowledge graphs are stored in vector databases and Neo4j-like stores. Indexes are customized per data source (chunking strategy, parsing rules, retrieval weights). If you switch, indexes don't port directly—you rebuild.
